Gear & packing lists

Gear has two halves: group gear — the kit the group shares — and your personal list — what you need to pack yourself.

Group gear

Group gear is everything the group needs between you: tents, stoves, ropes, first aid kit.

• Categories — organise items into groups like Kitchen, Safety or Navigation.
• Quantity — how many you need.
• Assign each item to the person bringing it, or click I'll bring this to take it yourself.
• Confirm — once the person bringing an item has it packed, they tick it off. Only the person it's assigned to can do this.

Adding a long list? Use Quick Add to paste many items at once, one per line (for example 2x Sleeping Pad - foam), or Import CSV.

Photos of gear

Share a photo in the discussion — the rack, the tent, the dodgy stove — and link it to a group gear item. The photo then shows on that item, so everyone knows exactly which one is coming.

Your personal list

Your personal list is a private packing checklist. Nobody else can see it — not even the organiser.

Ways to fill it quickly:

• Suggested items — the organiser can set a list of suggested items for the trip ("helmet", "harness", "head torch"). Add them to your list with one click.
• Presets — start from a built-in list: Day Hiking, Multi-day Camping, Canyoning, Rock Climbing or Kayaking/Canoeing.
• Templates — reuse a list you've saved before (see below).

Built a good list? Save it as a template and apply it to any future adventure. Manage your templates in Settings.

My Packing List

My Packing List combines your personal items with any group gear assigned to you, in one printable view. Perfect for the night before.

For organisers

You can set the suggested items everyone sees, and load a preset into the suggestions to get started quickly.

Who can do what

Group gear is in the trip pack; your own packing list is added to the trip pack when you download it while signed in.
